Like the elm tree, our practice is rooted in care and growing toward recovery.
Deeply Rooted in Care. Committed to Growth.
I founded Elm Rehabilitation Services with both personal meaning and professional purpose. The name ELM represents my initials, but it also reflects the strength and symbolism of the elm tree itself: deeply rooted, resilient, and ever-growing.
My passion for oncology rehabilitation began during one of the most pivotal seasons of my life. As I was completing my Doctor of Physical Therapy program, my mother, Sonja, was diagnosed with cancer. While navigating graduate school, I witnessed firsthand the physical toll cancer treatment took — the fatigue, weakness, pain, and functional decline, as well as the limited rehabilitative resources available to truly support patients through those challenges.
She saw the gap. She felt the need. She discovered her calling.
My mother passed away a year before I graduated from PT school. That experience shaped the direction of my career. I made a commitment to specialize in oncology rehabilitation so that patients and families could have access to compassionate, skilled support during an incredibly challenging time.
Elm Rehabilitation Services grew from that commitment. Today, my practice reflects both professional expertise and a deeply personal dedication to care. I treat every patient with empathy, respect, and individualized attention, because behind every diagnosis is a person, a family, and a story.
Deep Roots. Genuine Care. Lasting Healing.
Today, my practice stands as a reflection of both professional expertise and deeply personal commitment.
I treat every patient with empathy, respect, and individualized care, because behind every diagnosis is a person, a family, and a story.
At Elm Rehabilitation Services, I remain rooted in compassion, strengthened by purpose, and always growing toward healing.
Expertise in Lymphedema and Cancer Rehabilitation
Secondary lymphedema is often a byproduct of today’s life-saving cancer treatments, including surgery and radiation. I am passionate about educating my patients on their individual risk and providing practical risk-reduction strategies. Through early screening and proactive treatment, I help patients address symptoms before they progress, minimizing swelling, discomfort, and long-term complications.
